In beam gamma ray Spectroscopy of Transitional Nuclei

Abstract

In-beam newlineand#1048576;ray spectroscopy serves as an efficient tool to investigate structural properties newlineof nuclei. The present thesis entitled as In-beam newlineand#1048576;ray spectroscopy of transitional newlinenucleiquot, provides a newline-ray spectroscopic investigation of band structures of newlinetransitional nuclei near proton Shell closure (Z = 50) and also near neutron shell newlineclosure (N = 82). Investigation of these nuclei draws great attention over last few newlinedecades due to the abundance of versatile structural phenomena and made a very newlinegood laboratory to test different theoretical models. The process helps to understand newlinethe various underlying physical processes for the shape evolution and phase newlinetransition processes in a many-body quantum system. These investigations have newlinebeen carried out with an advance and sophisticated experimental facility Indian National newlineGamma Array (INGA), consists of 23 HPGe clover detectors with anti-compton newlineshields supported by high-end electronics and signal processing equipment at Interuniversity newlineAccelerator centre, New Delhi.
