Abstract
The internet is ingrained in all aspects of daily life; key applications include electronic mail, social networking, file sharing, online banking, e-commerce, travel and tourism, online food ordering, company promotion, navigation, real-time news, etc. Online education has taken on a new dimension as a result of the Covid epidemic, and businesses offering astrology, tarot card reading, horoscopes, and even prayer and puja services used the internet during the outbreak. Social media has become a crucial tool since it serves several purposes in addition to its main ones of networking, disseminating information, and sharing social images and videos. For instance, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp groups are all utilized to connect consumers and sellers. Facebook and Instagram are also used as marketplaces and for business marketing. All of these social media platforms serve as a hub for politics, and politics also has an impact on all of the aforementioned aspects of life, whether directly or indirectly. Politics are discussed on the social networking site for video sharing that has recently become popularized as Tik Tok. The last ten years have seen the publication of thoughtful literature examining the impact and consequences of social media on politics. Social media may have both advantages and disadvantages, but it amplifies human intent in general both good and evil. The social media revolution is real, present, and accelerating in Indian politics. In order to connect with the public, political parties and elected officials are becoming more visible on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. This essay aims to provide insight on the relationship between political activity on social media and actual political engagement. People of all ages and from all walks of life are the subjects of an online survey that is sent via email, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The findings show a significant association between political social media activity and political efficacy and real-world political participation.
