Abstract

This book examines the beginning of the insurgency that has racked Jammu and Kashmir. It propounds the case that political restlessness in the valley is an outcome of lopsided relation amid political mobilization and economic growth. Ganguly s key argument is that the rebellion can be elucidated by the coupled processes of political mobilization and institutional rot.
