Study on estimation of effective dose in digital radiographic examinations

Abstract

The medical exposures have become the largest source of radiation newlinedoses to population. Now a day s film-screen radiography has almost been newlinelargely replaced by digital radiography systems. The flexible imaging system of newlinedigital radiography can easily result in over exposure to patient without the newlineknowledge of operator. These radiation exposures above no additional clinical newlinebenefits must be avoided for optimisation process. In order to prevent the risks newlineof exposures received by patients during radiological examinations, it is essential newlineto estimate the effective doses. The effective dose is one of the best parameters newlinefor describing the amount of radiation dose received by a patient undergoing any newlinediagnostic X-ray examination. newline
