HVAC thermal comfort and energy efficiency in commercial buildings

Abstract

Energy is the major concern in the field of commercial applications. Heating newlineVentilation and Air Conditioning is one of most consumers of electrical energy in newlinecommercial buildings. To reduce energy consumption and compromise with the newlinethermal comfort will effects the environment and financial benefits. Thermal newlineenvironment is one of the parameter to measure the thermal comfort for building newlineapplications. Preliminary environmental conditions required standard techniques for newlinemodelling and analysis to satisfy the thermal comfort. Thermal comfort is one of the newlineaspects for human comfort for daily life activities. Hence, energy consumption is the newlinemajor observation for the healthy environment for the present scenario. Therefore, newlineHVAC system gives the better performance for the comfortable indoor system newlinewithout wastage of energy. newlineThe present work is focused on investigation of HVAC system by considering the newlineoccupants, heating system, ventilation indoor and outdoor condition, flow newlinemeasurement, cooling requirement as per the ASHRAE standards. To observe the newlineabove conditions for thermal comfort analysis Computational Fluid Dynamics is used newlineto modeling and evaluate the indoor conditions for temperature distribution and flow newlineanalysis as per the present investigations. Catia-V5 software was used for the building newlineinformation for commercial building standards and by using CFD software the level newlineof thermal comfort at inside levels and energy transfer distribution during the newlinecontinuous operation process, newline
