Mental health life skills spiritual intelligence psychological hardiness and usage of digital technology among college students

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the relationship of mental health with life skills, spiritual intelligence, psychological hardiness, and usage of digital technology among college students. It was conducted in two phases; in first phase, digital technology tool was developed and standardized on a sample of 600 first year college students and in second phase, the data was collected from a sample of 600 college students, using stratified random sampling technique from various government and private colleges of Chandigarh. The data was collected using four standardized tools, i.e., the Mental Health Inventory, Life Skill Assessment Scale, Roqan Spiritual Intelligence Test and Singh s Psychological Hardiness Scale. Scores of Mental health, life skills, spiritual intelligence, psychological hardiness, and usage of digital technology were analyzed by using t-test and Coefficients of Correlation as required. The results of the study revealed that mental health of college students was significantly correlated with life skills, spiritual intelligence, psychological hardiness, and usage of digital technology at 0.01 level of significance, whereas significant difference was found in the mental health, life skills, spiritual intelligence and psychological hardiness of male and female college students whereas no significant difference was found between usage of digital technology amongst male and female college students. newline
