dc.description.abstractnewline1 The Summary newlineThe present study explored the impact of Managerial Optimism and Age on Effectiveness of newlineexecutives working in Public and Private Sector Banks in India. The report of the study has newlinebeen organized into seven chapters for clarity of presentation. Chapter I introduces the variate newlinestructure and conceptual framework to construct a base for rationale and objectives of the newlinestudy. Chapter II presents a comprehensive review of the literature in terms of Optimism, newlineLearned Optimism, Managerial Optimism and Managerial Effectiveness and their correlates newlinewhich highlight the research gaps. newlineChapter III relates to research method in terms of the study, the design, the sample and the newlinetools for data collection and data analysis. A trivariate factorial design of 2x2x2 constitution newlinewas used. The study has a multistage-multivariate-multigroup randomized design to ensure newlinethe measurement of the impact of the Managerial Optimism, Age and Type of Bank as newlineindependent variables on Managerial Effectiveness and its factors as dependent variables. newlineThe layout of the design classified the bank employees in terms of two levels of Managerial newlineOptimism (high and low), two levels of age (Young Adults of 25-35 years and Middle-Aged newline40-50 years), and two levels of type of bank (Public and Private). In all, there were eight newlinestudy groups. Out of the total sample of 467 bank executives, the final sample of 400 newlineexecutives was selected with 50 elements in each cell of the research paradigm after newlinepurification of data. The steps and formulae for ANOVA and z-test have been presented at newlinethe end of the chapter. newlineChapter IV illustrates the layout of the experiments and significant results. It covers 4 newlineexperiments that tested 140 hypotheses. Each experiment has a bimodal configuration newlinepresenting significant findings based on analysis of variance and z-test analysis. The newlinesignificant results have been summarized at the end of each experiment and are later newlineconsolidated into grand summary. Chapter V presents the findings of the study with newlinet
