Abstract
The evolution of technology has changed the way human interacts. From the era of
newlinemainframe computers to client-server technology along with the advent of the
newlineinternet, the technological shift proves to be a game changer for the world. Cloud
newlineComputing is one of the technologies contributing to making people s life easier and
newlinebetter. It combines the outstanding features of previous technologies like the
newlinemainframe era or client-server era followed by the Internet era and creates a network
newlineof computers that is stretched across the globe using distributed technology. It
newlineprevents the organization from investing millions in the procurement of the hardware
newlineand spending more than a million on maintaining them. Basically, Cloud Computing
newlinerefers to the efficient use of shared resources among the applications that are hosted
newlineon the Internet.
newlineBased on the type of services the Cloud offers, it is mainly categorized as
newlineInfrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-aService (SaaS). Cloud Computing offers countless benefits like on-demand purchase,
newlineeasy maintenance, improved performance, mobility, device independence, and
newlineflexible configuration. Despite all the advantages, Cloud security is still a big concern
newlinefor Cloud users. There are many threats to the Cloud environment which include
newlinepassword cracking, man-in-the-middle attack, denial of service attacks, phishing
newlineattacks, spoofing, SQL injection attack, cross-site attack, malware attack, HTTP flood
newlineattacks, ransomware, and so on. The intruders are finding new ways to harm the
newlinecredibility of the Cloud. So, Cloud developers and researchers need to be one step ahead of them and continue working on improving Cloud security. ..
