dc.description.abstractThe increasing prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, particularly newlinethose related to hypercholesterolemia and other lipid disorders, highlights the newlineurgent need for advancements in cardiovascular diagnostics. This thesis newlinefocuses on addressing key challenges in the detection of cardiac biomarkers, newlinesuch as Troponin I, for heart attack diagnosis through the development of a newlineportable diagnostic platform. This research integrates microfluidic newlinetechnology, biosensing techniques, and electrochemical transduction systems newlineto provide a comprehensive solution for real-time, point-of-care (POC) newlinediagnostics. newlineThis research addresses the global challenge of Cardiovascular newlineDiseases (CVDs) by developing and optimizing a microfluidic biosensor newlinesystem for the early detection of cardiac biomarkers, specifically cardiac newlinetroponin I (cTnI). Recognizing the limitations of traditional antibody-based newlineassays, such as high costs, limited stability, and slow preparation times, the newlinestudy proposes an innovative solution through the integration of aptamers into newlinebiosensor technology. The thesis investigates the fabrication of a microfluidic newlinedevice, synthesis and characterization of CoNi-MOFs, and the newlinefunctionalization of biosensors with aptamers, culminating in the newlinedevelopment of a novel point-of-care diagnostic tool aimed at revolutionizing newlinecardiac diagnostics, improving patient care, and reducing the burden of CVDs newlineon healthcare systems. newline
