dc.description.abstractCloud computing is a service that an organization does not need to own; rather, it is a service that an organization can use on a rent-to-own model. This concept of the cloud makes it more popular and a companion to small businesses that are unwilling or unable to invest funds in the three basic areas where cloud services are available on a hire basis. One of the reasons cloud computing is so popular is the ability to rent out its services. Other benefits include the ability to store large amounts of data (up to terabytes per day), the ability to provide Quality of Service (QoS), the ability to maintain service terms Service Level Agreements (SLA), and the ease of hiring it with just one click. newlineThere are three primary service models in the cloud. Hardware as a Service (HaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is the layer at the bottom of the stack that includes all of the hardware that is needed to run a business. Platform as a Service (PaaS) is the second layer from the bottom, and it provides us with the platform for cloud implementation and operation. Various platforms, such as Xen, VM, Nebula, etc., are available. Software as a Service (SaaS) is the top layer, where all development is done. Google Drive, Facebook, Salesforce.com, etc. are excellent examples of SaaS service model. newlineAll three layers have demonstrated their utility, and the market has unanimously accepted the cloud concept, but researchers are concerned about certain areas. This area includes task scheduling, resource management, load balancing, and security of cloud services to name a few. This is work primarily focuses on task scheduling of the cloud to be precise over here tasks of independent nature are considered here for experimentation. Task scheduling is considered as heart of the cloud computing because success of the cloud and its large scale infrastructure heavily depends upon the efficiency of task scheduling algorithm.
