An Exploration of Experiences of Scheduled Caste Women in Higher Education in Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University Solapur of Maharashtra

Abstract

The Purpose of the present study to analyses the significance of socioeconomic and newline educational backgrounds of Scheduled Caste women and how the caste, class and gender newline complicity effects on their educational journey. This study has conducted in Punyashlok newline Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University of Maharashtra located nearby Solapur district. This newline University has equal access to both rural and urban area students, this study has aimed to newline develop an understanding about experiences and views and aspirations of the SC women newline from childhood to higher education. The study also has explored to what extent the newline educational facilities have been availed by them. This study has used an exploratory and newline analytical research design to explore their experiences, difficulties and discrimination during newline higher education. Purposive sample method in-depth-interview and observation methods used newline and Focus Group Discussion was also organized to collect supportive data. Both graduate and newline postgraduate student has taken for the study. The major result of the study it helps us to newline understand and explore to what extent the educational facilities (Provisions for Scheduled newline Caste students) have been availed by them. Another conclusion of the study to gather their newline suggestions on possible ways to improve their representation and participation in higher newline education.
