Health monitoring of concrete structures using non destructive evaluation methods

Abstract

Due to the lack of natural stone aggregates in Tripura (India) and Bangladesh and from the environmental conservation point, the use of substitute aggregates in concrete structures helps to mitigate demand. Structural failure is one of the major concerns using such aggregate which requires constant and precise monitoring to maintain the structural performance and prevent the loss of life. Due to the lack of proper guidelines and very limited research in this area, it is important to inspect the quality and functionality of structures regularly by using the robust technique to reduce the sudden collapse and corresponding loss of the economy and lives.
