Abstract
The study on queues is inevitable in today s busy world as waiting in some
newlineorder to get served is a common phenomenon. Science, Engineering, Medicine,
newlineBusiness, Service centers, Reservation counters, Communication network and Computer
newlinecenters are some fields where queues are formed from time to time. Queueing theory
newlineis a branch of Applied Probability Theory which attempts to explore and compare
newlinevarious queueing situations for an approximate optimization. As queues are omnipresent
newlinea study on their maintenance is highly essential. Operations Research can quite
newlineeffectively analyse queueing or congestion phenomena. The theory permits performance
newlinemeasures including average waiting time in the system, expected number waiting in
newlinethe system or queue and the probability of encountering the system in certain states
newlinesuch as empty, full, having an available server or having to wait before service, etc.
