Abstract
newline The importance of Organisation Citizenship Behavior (OCB) has been garnering increasing attention as the corporate environment becomes more organized and multi-faceted. Although a number of studies have been conducted to study the various antecedents and consequences of OCB, there were no such studies undertaken for the hospitals of the Delhi-NCR. This study aims to bridge this gap in the study of OCB. This study is aimed at studying the antecedents and consequences of organisation citizenship behavior (OCB) in hospitals of Delhi-NCR. Present study has developed a 5-point Likert-scale to measure OCB. Thereafter, dimensions were labeled based upon factors that were extracted. The dimensions are, namely, positivism, philanthropy, cooperation, discipline and commitment. In addition to this, the study examined the relationship and impact of identified antecedents, i.e., job satisfaction and perceived organisation support. The study examines the impact of OCB on employee commitment and employee retention. Lastly, the study presented the dimensions of OCB and its mediating role on the identified antecedents, i.e., job satisfaction, perceived organisation support and consequences, i.e., employee retention and employee commitment.
