newlineABSTRACT
newlineThe present investigation Effect of phytohormones and micronutrients
newlineand their mediation in enhancement of yield and fruit quality of banana cv.
newlineGrand Naine was conducted at Fruit Science block, Dr. YSRHU-College of
newlineHorticulture, Anantharajupeta, Annamayya district, Andhra Pradesh during the
newlineyears 2021-22 and 2022-23. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized
newlineblock design (FRBD) with two replications. The treatments included six
newlinephytohormones (P1: Methyl Jasmonate at 1.5 and#956;M, P2: Methyl Jasmonate at
newline1. 0 and#956;M, P3: Salicylic acid at 200ppm, P4: Salicylic acid at 100ppm, P5:
newlineHomobrassinolide at 3ppm and P6: Homobrassinolide at 2ppm) combined with
newlinethree micronutrients (M1: Zinc sulphate at 0.5 %, M2: Ferrous sulphate at 0.2 %,
newlineand M3: Borax at 0.3 %).
newlineWith regard to growth parameters, the foliar application of phytohormone,
newlineHomobrassinolide at 3ppm (P5) recorded the highest number of leaves and leaf
newlinearea whereas, among the micronutrients, Ferrous sulphate at 0.2 % (M2) resulted
newlinein the highest number of leaves and leaf area. The interaction effect of
newlineHomobrassinolide at 3ppm + Ferrous sulphate at 0.2 % (P5M2) showed the highest
newlinenumber of leaves (22.77, 22.30 and 22.54), leaf length (164.55, 164.15 and 164.35
newlinecm), leaf width (74.15, 74.24 and 74.19 cm) and leaf area (14.23, 14.74 and 14.99
newlinem2) during plant crop, ratoon crop with pooled mean, respectively.
newlineThe phenological characters indicated earliness with less number of days
newlinefor leaf unfurling, flag leaf initiation, shooting, bunch harvest and fruit maturity in
newlineplants sprayed with Homobrassinolide at 3ppm (P5). Among the micronutrients,
