dc.description.abstractNatural fibers, with their rich history and sustainable attributes, continue to be a newlinesignificant player in various industries. As global awareness shifts towards sustainability, the newlinepotential of natural fibers as eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic materials is gaining momentum, newlinepaving the way for innovative applications and research avenues. This present investigation was newlinecarried out on the Development of nonwoven fabric using lignocellulosic fiber extracted from newlinejute and okra plant with the following objectives: newlineand#61623; To extract the fibers from the jute and okra plants newlineand#61623; To evaluate the physicochemical properties of extracted fibers newlineand#61623; To prepare the nonwoven fabrics with different blend proportions of the extracted fibers newlineand#61623; To assess the properties of developed nonwoven fabrics. newlineBoth jute and okra are abundant in many regions and are often considered waste newlineproducts after primary usage, making them potential sustainable resources. Initially, the newlinelignocellulosic fibers from jute and okra were extracted using a series of mechanical and chemical newlineprocesses. The extracted fibers were characterized for their physical, mechanical, and chemical newlineproperties. The results indicated that both jute and okra fibers possessed suitable characteristics newlinefor nonwoven fabric production, including adequate tensile strength and flexibility. newlineIn this investigation, fibers from jute and okra plant was extracted by using retting newlinemethod i.e. water retting where maximum yield (11.5%) was found in water retted jute fibers. newlineVarious physical and chemical properties as well as solubility percentage of okra and jute fibers newlinein different solvents were evaluated. The bleached fiber revealed with maximum solubility in cold newlinewater, hot water and dilutes alkali solutions than retted fibers. Solubility (%) of raw fibers of both newlineokra and jute was more in dilute alkali as compared to cold water and hot water. All the physical newlineproperties showed satisfactory results in water retted for both okra and jute fibers....
