Background J Parkinson 1817 was the first person who explained Parkinson Disease PD and referred to it as a Shaking Palsy FOG is directly proportional to the duration of disease and is seen in 70 8 after 10 years of duration of disease 53 3 with 5 years and 22 4 when disease duration 5 years Aims Investigating the improvement in gait and reduction of frequency of FOG using spatial and temporal gait variables like stride length step length step width cadence in PD who have freezing of gait Methods In this open label crossover study a total 90 PD participants with HandY of 2 and 3 stage participated Independent variables Cycling ergometer with external cues visual and auditory Dependent variables FOG questionnaire 6minute walk test Astrand test for vo2 max and Cadence Procedure Participants were instructed to do 20 minutes of cycling on cycle ergometer with allotted cue for 5 days a week for six weeks at their residence After completion of first cue they were crossover to next intervention with another cue after completion of 5 weeks washout period Data analysis The data was compiled and analysis was done appropriately Result and conclusion The percentage of the change of auditory and visual intervention are similar in both cues and there was no significant difference found in statistical analysis of this study The cycle ergometer is cost effective does not required supervision by Physiotherapist once patient learns he will continue cycle ergometer protocol by him or herself at home newline newline newline
