Abstract

Cybercrime is a serious threat to society as new technologies offer several benefits but have also provided an opportunity for criminal activity. Cybercrime investigation has become a serious concern worldwide including nations such as India, where this field revolutionized law enforcement activities. This thesis titled Cybercrime Investigation In India: New Issues, Challenges and Strategies gives an in-depth analysis of cybercrime investigation in India as well as the Indian criminal justice system. There is a strong emphasis on the issues of technological evolution while maintaining rapid changing tactics of cyber perpetrators on the malicious use of advanced ICT tools. This evolution notwithstanding, those are rendered un-utilized due to lack of requisite knowledge, lack of resources, and lack of jurisdiction.
