dc.description.abstractNeuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the science of simulating or modelling the consistent and characteristic arrangements (patterns) of human behaviour. Our thought process, our desires, fears , the way we motivate ourselves, build rapport, the way we interpret all our interactions-finds answers in the way our mind works. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a self-development tool that finds its applications in various vistas of life including curing phobia, motivating patients of chronic diseases to live, persuading customers to buy specific products or service, counselling an aggrieved customer, etc. Lately, NLP has found its place in training and education too. In this study, three tools of NLP viz. rapport-building, learning styles and language patterns of the teacher in the higher education institutions (HEIs) have been studied for their impact on the class room environment and students performance. newlinePrevious research studies have shown that Faculty Student Rapport (FSR) has mixed results in terms of their impact on the academic performance of the students. Focus of the present study is the impact of faculty student rapport (FSR) on class room environment (CRE). Study has been conducted in the institutions imparting engineering and management education in the national capital region (NCR) of India. Research methodology includes a mix of qualitative and quantitative tools. Open-ended questionnaire to the students and teachers, and word frequency analysis of their responses helped in identifying the variables related to faculty-student rapport and the outcome of such rapport in improving the class room environment. Total Interpretive Structural Modelling (TISM) was deployed to study the driving and dependency relationship between the variables of faculty student rapport. Quantitative study deployed self-reporting inventories on FSR and CRE. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was applied to reach significant factors impacting FSR and CRE.
