Titanium and 316L stainless steel metals have been highly studied for bone implant applications. The hip and knee orthopedic implants are considered to be well-used by the surgeons. The expectations for the orthopedic implants are said to increase to 674% in US alone, by the year 2030.These metals has the high mechanical strength and good corrosion resistance. However, the raw metals contains the harmful reaction with biological tissues after metallic ions are released from the implants. Major problem like mechanical and biological properties are arises in the medical implant field. Without surface modification of the titanium alloys and 316 L stainless steel, they become toxic when they are implanted. Metallic implants surface might be changed by different methods, which impact the rate of implant osseointegration. It is subsequently appeal to describe a surface with attributes which are ideal for osseointegration. newlineThe thesis consists contains three different surface modification method used for coating the titanium alloys and 316 L stainless steel. In the first part, the pulsed laser deposition technique was employed to coat hydroxyapatite on titanium alloys and 316L stainless steel. The coated titanium alloy and 316L stainless steel, were characterized by XRD, AFM and FESEM. The corrosion nature of the HA coated biomedical alloys (Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-13Nb-13Zr and 316L stainless steel) was investigated by potentio dynamic polarization studies and has good corrosion resistance when compared to that of the uncoated biomedical alloys (Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-13Nb-13Zr and 316L stainless steel). Electro chemical impedance results revealed newline
