Relationship between internet usages achievement motivation self_regulated learning and academic achievement of undergraduates

Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the relationship between internet usage, achievement motivation, self-regulated learning and academic achievement of undergraduates. This is the descriptive type of co-relational research, where survey was conducted to collect the data from 1540 Arts, Commerce and Science third year undergraduates. The findings of present study showed that internet usage has weak, negative and significant relationship with academic achievement. Results also showed weak, positive and significant relationship of self-regulated learning and achievement motivation with academic achievement. Self-regulated learning and achievement motivation have weak, positive and significant relationship. However, there is no relationship between achievement motivation and internet usage. Present research suggests future researchers attempt to replicate this study using different valid dimensions of achievement motivation and internet use
