Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), a metabolic condition linked to systemic difficulties, such as musculoskeletal and pulmonary dysfunction. Recent studies have highlighted handgrip strength (HGS) as a potential marker for functional impairment in diabetic patients. Given the impact of T2DM on respiratory mechanics, investigating the relationship between HGS and pulmonary function tests (PFTs) can offer valuable insights into disease progression and management. newlineAIM AND OBJECTIVES newlineThe current research focuses to explore the association among HGS and pulmonary activity in patients with T2DM. The primary objectives were to assess HGS and PFTs in diabetic patients and determine their correlation. Secondary objectives included evaluating the association based on gender, glycemic control, BMI, and Physical Activity. newlineMETHODS newlineCross-sectional research was performed on 140 patients with T2DM. HGS was measured using a dynamometer, while PFTs were assessed using spirometry. Data on demographics, glycemic control, BMI, and physical activity levels were collected. Statistical evaluation was performed using Pearson s correlation and regression models newline
