Abstract
The development of bio-adsorbents from natural organic waste represents a promising
newlineand sustainable approach for environmental remediation, particularly in the treatment
newlineof contaminated water. This study explores the potential of utilizing various organic
newlinewastes, such as peels of papaya and pomegranate as well as marigold flower waste to
newlineproduce efficient bio-adsorbents for the removal of pollutant like Methylene blue, an
newlineorganic dye. The process involves the collection and pre-treatment of waste materials,
newlinefollowed by chemical and physical activation techniques to enhance adsorption
newlineproperties. Characterization methods, including FTIR, SEM and EDX are employed to
newlinedetermine the structural and functional attributes of the developed bio-adsorbents.
newlineAdsorption studies are conducted to evaluate the performance, optimizing parameters
newlinesuch as pH, contact time, initial concentration, and adsorbent dose. Isotherm, kinetics,
newlineand thermodynamic analysis are all critical components of a comprehensive study of
newlinethe adsorption process. Each provides unique insights that, when combined, offer a
newlinecomplete picture of the adsorption mechanism, efficiency, and practical applicability.
newlineMoreover, thermodynamic parameters including and#916;Gand#7506;, and#916;Hand#9702;, and and#916;Sand#9702; were computed
newlineindicating the process was spontaneous and exothermic in nature. Regeneration and
newlinereusability are assessed to ensure long-term applicability and cost-effectiveness. This
newlineresearch highlights the dual benefits of waste valorization and environmental
newlineprotection, demonstrating that bio-adsorbents derived from natural organic waste are a
newlineviable alternative to conventional adsorbents, offering both economic and ecological
newlineadvantages.
