dc.description.abstractnewline In recent years, electrical energy consumption is increasing rapidly due to the increasing demand of energy across the world. As a result, numerous fossil fuel sources and other resources that has great contribution in global warming due to large consumption of greenhouse gases. Due to unusual impacts caused by these resources, a rapid progress in finding an alternative and renewable energy has attained a significant interest in the area of research to eliminate the shortage of fossil fuels and reduce the global warming concern. In the last three decades, renewable energy has become a challenging field and many researchers have made renewable energy as the main focus in order to create new sustainable, natural abundance and environmental friendly energy resources. This demand of renewable energy will continue in future because the production of renewable energy sources are expected to satisfy 20% and 50% of the total energy needs in 2020 and 2050 respectively. The proposed research concentrates on the integration concerns of next-generation renewable systems, where the grid is becoming more disseminate and accessible. PMSG based wind energy conversion systems and solar photovoltaic are expected to be more beneficial. Power quality improvement such as harmonic reduction is the key to attain higher utilization of renewable energy sources. Such functionalities for the future systems contribute to reduced cost of energy and reliable power system
