R I deals with a brief introduction of thermoelectric, evolution, newlinebackground, and the challenges were successfully addressed through various newlineapproaches suggested by pioneers in the field. Additionally, this chapter elucidates the newlinecrucial factors influencing the thermoelectric figure of merit, offering various newlineperspectives. It also presents a review of the advancements in state-of-the-art newlinethermoelectric materials. Moreover, the latter section of this chapter covers the newlineinception and progression of materials based on chalcogenide molybdenum disulphide newline(MoS2) for applications in thermoelectricity, along with an overview of the reported newlineexperimental results to date. newlineCHAPTER II focuses on synthesizing MoS2 through a hydrothermal newlinemethod, subsequently employing the densification technique for conducting newlinethermoelectric measurements. The fundamental characterization methods employed to newlineassess the structural, morphological, compositional, and crystalline attributes of the newlineprepared samples were elucidated. The explanation covers the utilization of the van der newlinePauw method in the Hall measurement technique to analyze both charge carrier density newlineand mobility. Thermoelectric characterization, including the examination of the newlineSeebeck coefficient and electrical conductivity, was conducted using the Advanced newlineRiko ZEM-3. Additionally, the laser flash technique (LFA467 HT) was chosen to newlineanalyze thermal diffusivity, are discussed in the chapter newline
