Gasifier-Diesel engine integrated systems play a prominent role in power generation for newlinevarious stationary applications in remote places due to non-availability of centralized grid newlineconnectivity. The burning diesel in CI engine leads to fossil fuel depletion and newlineenvironmental degradation. Renewable and sustainable fuels for diesel engine newlineapplications provide energy protection, overseas exchange saving and address newlineatmospheric degradation and socio-economic concerns. Hence, there is a huge demand for newlinegenerating electricity in remote areas by effectively utilizing available renewable newlineresources in gasifier-diesel engine integrated systems. In view of this, experimental newlineinvestigations are carried out on a single cylinder, four stroke, water cooled, direct newlineinjection diesel engine developing a power output of 5.2 kW at 1500 rev/min in dual fuel newlineengine mode integrated with a downdraft gasifier. Dual fuel engine is fueled with newlinesecondary fuel from Neem oil methyl ester blend (NeOME B20), primary fuel from newlineproducer gas (PG) generated from neem biomass and hydrogen enriched PG. Dual fuel newlineengine operating conditions were fine-tuned to effectively utilize both gaseous and liquid newlinefuels with enhanced performance for rural agriculture sector. newline
