Abstract

The LGBTQ community has existed since ages in our country, and the proof of it has been mentioned in many ancient and mythological scriptures. But they have never got the attentionrequired and looked down upon with cynicism. The research work will try to explore about the consequences and dilemmas faced by the LGBTQ community who feel marginalizedfrom the mainstream world and face the issues of identity crisis. Queer identity has always suffered through the dilemma of to be or not to be. Due to the sexual minority, they are left with the feeling of isolation, depression and even suicidal. The research work is an examination and exploration of the condition of LGBTQ in the Indian society. All the works A Married Woman, Me Hijra Me Laxmi, The Ministry of Utmost Happiness and The Boyfriend taken in this research presents the marginalized status of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenders in the community even in the contemporary world. The research work will aim to focus on how LGBTQ faces extreme humiliation, helplessnessand identity crisis in every step of their life. Through this work, I would like to throw light onhow they need to live their dreams and fulfil their aspirations and desires.
