Groundwater is a crucial source of water for mankind. Groundwater newlinesupplies all or part of the water consumed up to 50% of the global population, newlineand it also satisfies 43% of the water demand for agricultural purposes. Only newlinegroundwater resources are used by the world s 2.5 billion people to meet their newlinebasic daily water needs. The evaluation of groundwater purity and its newlineappropriateness for both drinking and agricultural purposes involved an newlineanalysis of the physico-chemical attributes of groundwater samples obtained newlinefrom 52 distinct locations. In order to assess irrigation suitability, various newlinephysicochemical factors were investigated, including pH, EC, TDS, TH, Ca, newlineMg, Na, K, Cl, F, So4, and Hco3.Additionally, factors such as Land use and newlineLand cover (LULC) classification, Soil adjusted vegetation index (SAVI), newlinedrought vulnerability assessment, DRASTIC vulnerability, GWPZ mapping, newlineand ARS suggestion were considered. Results had indicated that the majority newlineof samples analyzed fell within the permissible limits for the main cations and newlineanions. Notably, the metrics had exhibited higher values prior to the monsoon newlineseason in comparison to the post-monsoon samples. To ensure the suitability of newlinegroundwater for drinking purposes, it is recommended to employ appropriate newlinetreatment techniques such as water softening and ion exchange. newlineThe piper plot analysis conducted in the proposed study revealed that newlinecertain areas experienced a decline in groundwater quality, primarily due to newlinelocal and agricultural sewage pollution, which notably increased salinity levels. newlineThe study also utilized Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR), Residual Sodium newlineCarbonate (RSC), and Sodium percent values from the same groundwater newlinesamples to assess irrigation effectiveness in the study area. The statistical newlineanalysis indicated that groundwater generally remained suitable for irrigation newlineregardless of the season, but some locations exhibited deteriorating water newlinequality due to human activities. newline
