| dc.description.abstract | Fungal infection is one of the leading causes of skin diseases which may produce deleterious effect on skin by acting on skin surface at initial phase resulting in superficial infection and later on invade into the deeper layers by desquamation to induce subcutaneous fungal infection and may also disseminate to internal organs or become systemic.Candidiasis is the most widely prevalent opportunistic skin fungal infections which may occur superficially or infects deeper layers of skin. Risk factors for invasive candidiasis may include surgery( especially abdomen surgery),burns, long term stay in intensive care unit, immune compromised patients and the patients with previous administration of broad spectrum antibiotics and immunosuppressive agents(Mulani H et al., 2017) (Garg A et al., 2020). Candida albicans is the principal cause of candidiasis among various other strains viz C. parapsilosis, C. tropicalis, C. glabrataC. parapsilosis, C. krusei, or C. guilliermondii (Mathur Met al.,2017). newline | |
