Bio social characterization of menopause with special references to symptomatology osteoporosis and body mass index among rural women of Kanpur Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

There are very few studies on bio-social characterisation of menopause in India especially from rural areas. Since, large number of Indian population live in rural area it is important to understand the women health at micro level. The present study is focused on biological and social aspects of the menopausal symptoms and associated factors among rural women of Kanpur (UP). The present study will provide an opportunity to expand our limited knowledge on the factors affecting severity and intensity of these menopausal symptoms during the menopausal transition and related health problems. It will be positive effort to promote health consciousness and awareness among women in different menopausal stages. newline
